When you are expecting your first child, you mostly rely on the experience of family members and friends to help you navigate the shopping necessities for your baby.
But, everyone is different and there is no standardized parenthood manual. After your baby is born and you get a few weeks of first hand experience with him, you realize that there were items you wish you had purchase beforehand, and others you have and are completely useless.
Based on the team experience, here are the 5 items that must be on everyone’s baby shower’s gift registry.
– Lalabu Soothe Shirt
There are a lot of baby carriers on the market, but a shirt? Yes, and what make it interesting is the fact that Lalabu comes on different sizes and models (for moms and dads).
This moms all on one shirt, is a cozy carrying pouch for your baby (use is only recommended for babies 7 to 15 pounds), allowing a wonderful baby/mommy (or daddy ) bond. It has a head support that flips out and holds your baby’s head while he is sleeping and can be easily tuck back in the pouch when is not in use.
The Soothe Shirt features an easy-to-use nursing bra, making breastfeeding convenient and allowing you the comfort and coverage you need when your little one decides is lunch time. The shirt covers your stomach while nursing and you don’t need to wear a separate bra underneath.
The shirt is not mean to carry your baby hands free, but it is a great option instead of traditional baby carriers, and also allows your baby to look around and see things from a different perspective while feeling safe and comforted by your closeness.
The dad shirt is designed for dads to expend quality time with their little one without too much complications: nothing to tie, wrap or fasten.
This short sleeves shirt with a sporty v-neck and slim fit, will help daddy bond with the baby keeping both calm and stylish.
The only downside we find to this fabulous product, is the fact that the baby will outgrow it in a few months, but, in true, can you name a product babies don’t outgrow pretty fast?
– Blooming Bath
The joy of giving a baby the first bath, became a “no so easy to get it done” after that first time, when reality hits and you have no one to help you bath your baby. You have to deal with a most of the times too big for your kitchen sink baby tub, and a slippery baby who may or may not like bath time for starters.
The main reason we really like the Blooming Baby Bath is that it fits most of kitchen sinks, and can also be used on bathroom or laundry sinks! You don’t have to break your back kneeling on your bathroom floor to hold your baby on the tub inside your bathroom tub! The diameter of the Blooming Bath is 32” and you can easily move the petals to give your baby a much needed support.
Because of the flower shape and the flexibility of the petals, it can adapt to your baby necessities and to the size and shape of the sink you use.
Made of soft materials, you only need to squeeze the excess of water when your baby finish the bath and get it on the dryer or hang it to get it dry.
Some users say that the water gets cold after 10 or 15 minutes, but water gets cold after a while on a plastic tub also, so you must check the water temperature every few minutes to ensure the comfort of your baby.
This Blooming Baby Bath comes in hot pink, blue, canary yellow, yellow, gray, pink,grey/light yellow and grey/light blue.
The only issue we have with it: is hard to get it dry and it can get mold if not properly dry.
– Pockit Lightweight Stroller
This compact stroller folds down to fit inside a carry-on suitcase and give you spare space!
Weighting less than 10 pounds, the Pockit Lightweight Stroller can hold a child up to 55 pounds and have a super easy two-step folding system, fitting on all overhead compartments (train or plain, it’ll fit).
The wheels rotate on a 360 angle, providing excellent maneuverability and can also be locked if needed to travel trough rough surfaces. It’s great to navigate trough large crowds (like Disney World parks crowds) or on a very narrow path. Also, it’s easy to push and steer with one-hand.
It has an adjustable, comfortable 5 points safety harness that keep your kid securely strapped down.
It has a storage basket that can hold up to 11 pounds, but it’s small and will hold only a few basics.
Perfect for traveling (one day trips or oversees), it’s also a great choice if you live in a small apartment and have no storage space.
You can get the Pockit Lightweight Stroller in a few different colors: Black, Blue, Red, Khaki and Dark Blue.
We found a downside of the Pockit Lightweight Stroller: the arms are kind of short, so if you are a little bit taller than your average person, you’ll have to hunch down to push it.
– The Beebo – Free Hand Baby Bottle Holder
When you can’t breastfeed your baby and need to multitask, The Beebo is the way to go.
It works with any bottle on the market, and is easy to use, comfortable to wear and very durable.
The Beebo makes it easy for an adult to feed a baby a bottle while keeping a hand free. It holds the bottle on your chest at the perfect angle for feeding. It’s the perfect tool for a dad, a grandparent or a babysitter to feed a hungry baby while mom is away.
Made of Polyurethane Foam, this Bottle Holder is PVC Free, Phthalates Free, BPA Free and Lead Free.
You can choose to get The Beebo on pink, blue or grey.
Most users complaints are because of The Beebo is way to bulky and that it prevents the bottle to keep the right angle to feed the baby. Also, they said it works better on a flat chest, like a dad.
– Baby Banana Toothbrush and Teether
Specially designed for babies 3 to 12 months old, the Baby Banana Toothbrush and Teether is the help any new parent needs to help develop the oral hygiene of their babies.
This 100% Food Grade silicone teething toothbrush is designed with “a-peel-ing” handles that make it super easy for babies to hold and put it on their own mouth.
The Baby Banana Toothbrush and Teether is an excellent aid to relief teething pains, while cleaning the baby’s teeth (removing food and milk particles) thanks to its soft massaging bristles.
Made of 100% food grade silicone, The Baby Banana is dishwasher and freezer friendly, and BPA, Phthalate, Latex, and Toxin Free.
Because of its small size, the Baby Banana works better than other tooth brushes and teethers on the market for young babies.
You can get this product in Blue, Pink, Yellow, and Green.
The downside of this product? Hmmm, personally, I love it. Most bad reviewers claim that the bristles come off after a while of use, making it unsafe. But, because babies will bite them (as toddlers do with their toothbrush until they learn to properly brush their tooths) as a parent you must check periodically the state of the bristles and decide when its time for a new Baby Banana.
